Every company has the ability to positively impact the environment and communities, as well as change its business model to benefit sustainable development and Social Responsibility (SR). Furthermore, a committed company is much more attractive.
For McDonald's, its Ronald McDonald House Charities foundation has become the entity with which it seeks to get closer to its stakeholders and do good with it.
At Expok we had the opportunity to talk with Gabriela Gatica, executive director of the Ronald McDonald Foundation and learn more about her work.

Ronald McDonald Mexico Children's Foundation has been working since 2000 for the health and well-being of thousands of children throughout the country:
We have unified efforts by working as a team, forming Chile Mobile Number List alliances with institutions related to children's health such as hospitals, public organizations, civil society organizations, companies and volunteers. Always with the specific objective of contributing to the health needs of children in our country.
Three star programs
To contribute to this objective, the Ronald McDonald House Charities Organization (RMHC) promoted three programs worldwide that seek to facilitate the permanence of families together in the face of their children's illness. Let's see:
Ronald McDonald Houses: spaces built to accommodate families who must travel far from home to treat their children's illnesses. The program offers a “home-away-from-home” for thousands of families around the world. There are currently more than 365 Ronald McDonald Houses globally.
Ronald McDonald Family Rooms: Hospital stays can be long, and for those who must face them, the foundation develops welcoming spaces within hospitals; In that place, parents can rest and stay while their children are treated. Currently there are more than 213 Family Rooms in the world.
Ronald McDonald Mobile Clinic: RMHC program that seeks to improve rural health care, developing a care system through the use of a truck as a mobile clinic. There are currently 50 Ronald McDonald Mobile Clinics in the world.
In Mexico, the foundation has three Ronald McDonald Houses located in Tlalpan, Mexico City, Tlalnepantla, Edo. Mexico and in the City of Puebla.
In total, we have kept more than 50,000 families together. In addition to providing them with lodging, we also offer them food and transportation to hospitals at no cost. Each house hosts an average of 250 families per month.
With the aim of strengthening its commitment, McDonald's has a burger with a cause that steals the hearts of its stakeholders.
A burger with a cause
McDonald's created the "Big Day", a day in which 100% of the funds raised by sales of the iconic Big Mac hamburger and promotional items such as coupons and stickers are allocated to social causes.
McDonald's hopes to surpass the goal of 60,000 Big Macs sold. Everything collected aims to help in the operation of the 3 houses and 6 family rooms of the Ronald McDonald Mexico Children's Foundation, as well as the organization SOS Children's Villages Mexico who provide a family environment for children to grow and develop properly until his youth.
The proceeds will go to the Ronald McDonald Children's Foundation and the organization Aldeas Infantiles SOS México, to benefit Mexican children and the insertion of young people into their first formal job.
At McDonald's Mexico, as a socially responsible company, we seek to expand our social impact by supporting the well-being of children, while supporting the inclusion and job training of low-income youth. During the Big Day, our only goal is to sell as many Big Macs as possible to help the Ronald McDonald Children's Foundation and the SOS Children's Villages Mexico organization.
